Set-up is much easier than in R2a - In R3 you just:
☆ unzip your preferred language
☆ open the ...TxT/OFFICE/1-Qsel folder
☆ Run Qsel.exe
==> And the TxT Office menu and a guide will open.
Follow the guide for 30 minutes and you will never look back - The TxT office is the fastest and easiest way to handle your writing needs!

(20240418) MiniPad is a small (2 MB distributable /1 MB working folder) version of the TxT office.
It contains the outliner MemPad, the text-editor TED Notepad, and a couple of support utilities.
Contrary to the main TxT office, all user-generated data are held in a separate folder.
The set-up allows for the editing of text, and export to (and editing of) HTML files and text-tables.
To save space, there is only a few minimalistic help-files in the working folder (in danish and english) - But MiniPad comes with a 'MP-Sources' folder with original distribution folders for all included programs.
► MiniPad is found in 'MiniPad.zip' (Place it anywhere, unzip, and follow the instructions in the 'readme.txt' or 'laesmig.txt' files)
The 'MiniPad' folder is meant for independent distribution - But the working folder ('MP') will also be included as a part of the normal TxT office distribution.

- Only for use if you have installed the first version of Release 2 (R2.zip)
Place it in the TxT folder (or whereever you placed the 'KONTOR' folder) and unpack it.
Answer 'Yes' when asked about updating folders/Replacing files
(ONLY the old INI files will be replaced - data you may have entered are safe!)

The revised full version of the TxT office Release 2, with minor bug-fixes:
- TxT.exe will create the TxT folder
- The Qsel 'Kontor' menu is updated
- The MemPad INI files are updated
R2a.zip is a single ZIP file, containing a complete set of installation files for (the revised version of) Release 2 of the TxT office.
R2a includes

HOW TO INSTALL:
1:
Unpack (uncompress) the downloaded file - this can be done in your download-folder, and will create the R2a folder.
This folder contains installation-help (in danish and english) and the installation-file (TxT.exe)
2:
Place TxT.exe in the folder that should contain the TxT office - since most of the programs are for text-entry and -editing, your 'Documents' folder ('My Documents') is suggested.
!! Do NOT place it inside Windows 'Programs' folders!!
(The programs are all portable, and should NOT be installed under Windows.
They can run from any folder, or from an USB stick)
3:
Run TxT.exe
This is a self-extracting 7z archive, which will create the 'TxT' folder.
4:
To avoid double unpacking, delete TxT.exe - or move it to the 'ZIP' folder found inside the newly created 'TxT' folder.

The 'TxT' folder contains:
4 numbered folders (named PRG1 - PRG4)
'ZIP' (An empty folder for storing compressed files)
KONTOR.exe (A Self-extracting Archive)
The numbered folders holds all programs in the TxT office package, in their original distribution folders.
They can be used as-is, without implementing the TxT office structure.
However, using the TxT office will add a menu-system, pre-made INI files which integrates the programs, and several custom made help-files and guides.
6:
Run KONTOR.exe
This is a self-extracting 7z archive, and running it will create the folder 'KONTOR', with a complete TxT office.

To avoid double unpacking, delete KONTOR.exe - or move it to the 'ZIP' folder.
8:
In the new 'KONTOR' folder, open the '1-Qsel' subfolder.
- Create a shortcut to Qsel.exe,
and place the shortcut on your Windows desktop, or the Windows Start-menu.
- Run Qsel.exe
This is the menu program that holds the TxT office together.
When it is run, it will automatically open
The 'Kontor' menu (= Office menu) with shortcuts to all programs and to help-files in danish and english.
The outliner MemPad (The central program of the TxT office package) will open the danish guide 'Velkommen.lst' (To open the english version ('Welcome.lst') use the file menu, opened by Alt-f)
In 30 minutes, the guide will lead you through the major functions of MemPad, and its integration with editors and utility programs.

► The TxT office is made of portable programs, and can run from anywhere - EXCEPT from inside the Windows folders for installed programs!
Place it where you want to write - your 'Documents' folder is a good suggestion.
(It can also be put on an USB stick - the help files contain suggestions on how to make small custom installations for separate projects)
How to install
- ► Unpack the downloaded 'TxT.zip' file. It contains the 2 installation files.
- ► Put 'TxT.exe' in your chosen folder. Run the program 'TxT.exe'
- This is a 7z archive, that will create the structure.
- ► Then delete the 'TxT.exe' file - or move it to the 'ZIP' folder, found inside the new 'TxT' folder.
- ► Move 'KONTOR.exe' into the 'KONTOR' folder.
- ► Now run the program 'KONTOR.exe' - This is a 7z archive, that will populate the subfolders with programs from the 4 numbered program-folders (PRG1 - PRG4)
- ► In the 'KONTOR' folder open the '1-Qsel' folder.
▬ make a shortcut to the 'Qsel.exe' program, and place it on your Windows Desktop, the Task Bar, or the Start Menu.
- ► Click the shortcut
▬ The TxT office menu ('Kontor'), will open - This contains shortcuts to all programs
▬ The MemPad outliner-file 'Velkommen.lst' will open. This is a guide to the important functions in the TxT office. Going through it will bring you up to speed in 30 minutes.
▬ 'Welcome.lst' is the english version of the guide - Open it from the 'File' menu.

For updating existing installations of the TxT office, version 0.2NE.1(R1)
The download consists of a ZIP file, that should be placed in the TxT folder.
After unzipping, the TxT office will be updated to Release 2 (R2) standard.
► IMPORTANT:
The target should be set to ...'\TxT\'
(IE: Select 'Unpack All' after rightclicking the file in Windows Explorer)
If ...'\TxT\SP1' is autosuggested, REMOVE the 'SP1' part.
If asked, you should ALLOW overwriting of old files.
ONLY Programs and Help files will be changed - Your Data and Settings are safe!
After unpacking (unzipping/Decompressing) the SP1 package, it should be moved to the 'ZIP' folder, or be deleted.
